Summary of Events
 
Activists reported more than 292 breaches of Eid al-Adha Truce by regime forces today, including direct shooting, sweeps and arbitrary arrests of unarmed civilians as well as heavy artillery and aerial bombardments on more than 111 different areas across the country, leaving dozens of people dead and many more wounded, including women and children.
 
Regime forces killed more than 116 people today, including nine women and four children. Some 48 people died in Damascus and its suburbs, most of them fell in two car bomb explosions that targeted the neighbourhoods of Zohour and Daf Ashoq in the south of Damascus which was recently subjected to massive military offensive by regime forces. At least 100 more people were also wounded as a result of the explosions. Scores of people were killed in the towns of Douma and Harasta due to the fierce and indiscriminate aerial and tanks shelling.
 
At least ten rebel fighters were killed in the neighbourhood of Ahsrafiya in Aleppo city as they clashed with the pro-regime Kurdish PYD militia. Many people were also shot dead by sniper fire in the neighbourhoods of Saif Adola, Ferdous and Suleiman Halabi in Aleppo city.
 
Regime forces also killed six people in Homs province as they bombarded the neighbourhood of Khaldiya and the provincial town of Talkalakh. They also executed seven people in Daraa and five more in the neighbourhood of Qusour in Deir Azzour city.
 
Clashes erupted in Idlib, Homs, Daraa, Deir Azzour, Damascus and Aleppo, leaving more than 26 army soldier and 22 rebel fighters dead.
 
Regime forces shelled the neighbourhoods of Qadam and Asaly in Damascus as well as the eastern Ghouta district in its suburb. They bombarded more than 22 different areas in Homs province and 16 more in Aleppo, in addition to many other areas in the provinces of Idlib, Deir Azour, Daraa and Hama.
 
More than 332 demonstrations broke out across the country calling for the downfall of the regime and chanting support for the rebel fighters.
 
Gold prices have spiked up significantly during the Eid season with the 21-Carat gold price per gram hits as high as $52.25.
